Just the right songs

(Caption received with pic: Hey,lady,I think I found your problem)

Thought:In order to do what really matters to you, you have to, first of all, know what really matters to you.
----
-Aap kaam se pareshaan hain?( Are you tired/zapped out at work?)
-Aap padhaai se pareshaan hain?(Are you tired of studying?)
-Aap ka ghar par man nahin lagta?(Do you feel listless at home?)

And,as the proverbial Vicks Action 500 ad goes, let me ask' Kuch Sunte Kyon Nahin?'(Why don't you listen to something nice?)

Well, I did try out music therapy this week, and, believe me, it was successful. Like no other!I really believe that music has the charm to soothe the savage beast!(Proverbially,of course, unless any of you can imagine me as a savage beast!ROFL)
Keshi, I'm sure you'll love most of them, depending on your mood(for fast/slow/senti). Red,I know, already has some of these in her favourites list. Sol,how about you?
What really amazed me was that each song I thought of, was available on youtube, which is fast becoming my third favourite site, after google and blogspot. So, let me share just a few of my favourites:
Note:I've picked more of the oldies, coz the new ones are already pretty well known..but, would love to add them, too,in a future post.
A) Hindi:
Sensuous:
- Makhmali yeh badan:Road:Link
-Dhak dhak karne laga:Beta:Link
Soft:
- Dil Nashe Mein Choor Hai- Kumar Sanu: Link
- Yeh ladka hai Allah:HKKN(movie):Link
- Chehra- Zoheb Hassan: Link
- Dil Ka Aalam: Aashiqui(movie):Link (But, I think the song was only in the audio, not in the movie)
- Pehla Nasha: Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander:Link
- Aane Waala Pal: Golmaal:Link
- Tera Chehra: Adnan Sami:Link
- Pal Bhar Ke Liye: Aap Ki Khatir(movie):Link
(Who else but Dharmendra could sing from a crane;s inspection lift?)
- Ruk Jaana Nahin:Imtihaan(movie):Link (The original movie video wasn't there)
- Aadmi Musafir Hai:Apnapan(movie):Link
I just love Ruk Jaana Nahin..the song goes:
Ruk Jaan Nahin Tu Kahin Haar Ke,
kaanto pe chal ke milenge saaye bahaar ke. O raahee, o raahee.
(Don't stop anywhere, even if you feel you've lost,
Only by walking on thorns, will you find the saaye bahaar ke(someone, please translate), O traveller)...will see if I can find the English translation of the song somewhere.
And, Aadmi Musafir Hai is equally thought-provoking:It goes:
Aadmi Musafir Hai( Man is a traveller)
Aata Hai yeh jaata hai(He comes and he goes)
Aate jaate raste mein yaadein chhod jaata hai(And,on the way, he leaves memories)

Hindi songs with a Western tilt:
- My heart is beating:Julie(movie): Link
- Dum Maro Dum: Hare Rama Hare Krishna(movie): Link
- One Two Cha Cha Cha:Shalimar(movie):Link
- Doston Se Pyaar Kiya:Shaan(movie): Link
(What facinates me is, the above songs are all from the Seventies/Eighties, a time when Disco was just making it's presence felt. So, be it the drugs-imbibing Dum Maro Dum or the body suit wearing lady dancing to the Shaan titles, these songs were all pretty much an indication of things(Read'songs') to come. And, still, they were different from today's songs, where, every one out of two songs has the hero-heroine bursting into aerobic(Or, should I say P.T.) exercise with a
whole team of dancers.
Foot-tapping Hindi songs:(Here, I've not mentioned all the new ones-that'd need a 100 lines..LOL)
Oldies
- Dekho Dekho Yeh Hai Jalwa:Link
(Haven't thought of more,yet)
Among the new ones, two are:
- Soni De nakhre: Partner(movie): Link (funny and foot tapping)
- Jee karda:Singh is Kingg(movie):Link (Akshay's movies have me grinning each time I see it.And, it's probably one of Katrina Kaif's most animated dances) and, here's the song with just the lyrics:Link
Funny:
- Patel Rap:Link (The original song was by Bali Brahmbhatt, this one's by Devang Patel)
- Ruk Jaana Oh Jaana:Warrant(movie): Link (Who else but Dev Anand could sing a song from a steam roller?)
- Pal bhar ke liye : Mera Naam Joker:link
- (remix):Roop Tera Mastana: Link
I'll touch upon the English favourites some other day!(Perhaps tomorrow?)
-

(Caption received with pic:Thanks, I had it done at that fabulous new salon downtown)

Keshi's the only one who tried out the quiz of a few days back...anyone else wanting to?If you're feeling too lazy to scroll down, here're the questions again:

- Which is heavier - a horse's liver or its gall bladder?
- What is the first line of dialogue Amitabh spoke in Reshma Aur Shera?
- What is the filament of a neon light made of?
- How did Ashwatthama die in the Mahabharat?
- Who played the title role in Hitchcock's Rebecca?

Answers next time

Lastly, time for a laugh or two.So, here goes:

Daffynitions:

Chestnut: A man who loves topless dancers.

Analogy: The study of as*holes

Height of Revenge: A bastard with a pin in a contraceptive factory.

A blonde goes over to her friend's house wearing a T.G.I.F. T-shirt. "Why are you wearing a 'Thank God it's Friday 'T-shirt on Monday?" her friend asks. "Oh shoot!" the blonde says, "I thought it meant 'T*ts Go In Front!"

Till next time, keep smiling!!

by the way, appreciate the pain that you have taken to list all the songs.

I love almost all the songs you've listed! lol for the heroine bursting into aerobics or some form of PT!!! Thankfully nowadays some of that seems to have come down a bit! The worst example of dancing in a movie is Sunny Deol in that movie Jeet..he was doing angry aerobics!
