Job Requirements



Do you know the latest in job requirements? I saw a few ads in the papers for this, and couldn't help feeling amused. The post? ' Bill Collector'. No wonder- in these times when there are instances of people leaving their bank-loaned vehicles at the airport, where people have purchased flats/villas and can't repay them, or where they've taken personal loans and not repaid, the requirement for a bill collector was bound to come up. Wonder whether the interview involves flexing muscles, speaking roughly,handling a stick, waving a gun, etc?

A miracle- a blooming miracle- I was astonished when I saw the news about the US Airways flight which landed in the Hudson river, and, all passengers and crew had a miraculous escape. If this isn't providence, what is? Hats off to the pilot for not losing his cool and getting all the passengers off. Wonder what they must've felt, standing on the wing/top of the plane, in freezing water, as they were being rescued? What is shocking is-the cause was bird hits...something which can happen in any country, any city, when the planes are flying at low level. Is there any solution to avoid such close shaves in the future?

Thank God that all of them survived. If it was India, I somehow feel the recuers would not have reached on time even if the pilot did a good job. So much of trust in my country! Perhaps, I should be shot but I am conditioned this way.

Im not surprised at the plane crash (it happens all the time) but I was surprised that everyone survived! Brilliance of the Captain ofcourse!

Inventions and Discoveries

I'm really curious. Who invented the 'Va'. Or the 'Sha'. Or the 'Wi'. Or some such words. No, they're not some illnesses or prefixes. These are the words we invent when talking to people. I see the usage the max, specially in Baroda. Like: 1. Chai-Vaai peeni hai?(Want to have some Chai-Vaai?) 2. Naashta-Vaashta kar liya?(Did you have Naashta-Vaashta?) 3. Chutney-Vutney hai kya?( Is there any chutney-vutney?) 4. Lift-Wift nahin hai kya building mein?(Isn't there a Life-Wift in the building?) 5. Bombay-Wombay/ Dubai-Shubai kab jaa rahe ho ab?(When are you going to ....?) 6. Paise-Vaise milenge time pe ya nahin?(Will you get Paise-Vaise on time or not?) There are so many others I come across during the day, like, say speaker-veeker, phone-vone, kapde-vapde, dukaan-vukaan, that I have these rhyming words coming out of my ears, and, Arghhh!! (Disclaimer: all the briefcase pics are courtesy goo-gling) Sush ,nee, SS has tagged me(thanks for that,SS)-the (ahem) only guy picked to do the tag...curiosity @ what I carry in my briefcase,apparently.:) So,here goes...be ready to get shocked??Not really.. ---- Currently: Answer is : Nothing..:)hehe..why? Coz I don't carry a bag or a briefcase. Some months back, I decided that I was fed up of carrying...(Well,that appears below)...anything to work.
