I knew it, I told you so

Pic: Did you think that you have a 'high' job? Well, think of the crane operator at the top of Burj Dubai, currently the tallest building in the world!!(Can you click the pic to get a better view?)
Waise, the next building to be taller than this one has also just been announced in Dubai!

How often does it happen that someone comes near you, looking disappointed, and, tells you that he/she was not successful at something, you,  instead of sympathizing with them, retort saying smugly’ I knew it’, ‘I told you so’,’ Now you won’t act so heroic’, and, to yourself, you say ‘serves him/her right’.

Similarly, whenever you’re in a group, and people are gossiping about something bad having happened to someone either in the group or someone absent, how often do you quickly join in and nod in agreement, add your own two bits, thereby ensuring that the person’s reputation is smeared a bit more? If the person is present, he/she either goes red with anger and retorts, or, he/she moves away, feeling hurt.

Lastly, how often does it happen that you later regret that you used those words either when alone with the friend, or in the group. But then, the cat is out of the bag, and you have to sow what you reap. So, you’ve probably lost that friend forever, and, whatever good you do for him/her later, will not bring back that ole friendship back.

And, I’ve not even mentioned those smart alec quips people sometimesmake, always at the expense of others, not knowing(Or, knowing) how the other person will feel to see you laughing at his/her expense.

I brought these urges under control, to a great extent, and, find it to be really helpful to ensure that people develop a feeling of trust towards you. Try it. It can’t do any harm, and, it will surely be more healthy than being vitriolic for a major part of the day. That is, of course, in case you find yourself in the category of beraters.

------

Now, how about this word origin:

In ancient England a person could not have sex unless you had consent of the King (unless you were in the Royal Family).  When anyone wanted  to have a baby, they got consent of the King who gave them aplacard that they hung on their door while they were having sex. Theplacard had  F**K (Fornication Under Consent of the King) on it.  Now
you know where that word came from.

Till next time, keep smiling!!And, avoid those brickbats. Bouquets are always a better convey  what you want to!

I hate it when ppl say 'I knew it' or 'I told ya so'...those lines lack respect for the other person.

I dunno abt others, but I say wut I hv to say on that person's face. If the person is absent, I dun talk abt them, except something good abt em.

And I hv even heard some ppl talking crap abt ppl who r dead. And thats so sad. Cos they r not ard to defend themselves.

HAHA @F**K! r ya serious or was that just a joke?

That pic gave me vertigo. :)

About the rest- I just keep away from backbiting. That's all. No point.

Cribbing abt the mkt? Now that's what I call cribbing- solid, sahi mein, masala maar key cribbing.
Hi there :)
So I usually end up sympathizing with people and try not to underestimate others when they attempt to do something. That has greatly reduced the number of problems and mistrust between friends and family (I think).

Joke of the day stimulated a raised eyebrow and an amused expression hehe

I guess many of us have the habit of gossiping. Its so easy to talk ill about someone and so difficult to remember that we may also be talked about in the same fashion.
