Jigsaws

Hi all! Sorry I haven't been blogging(Posting and visiting my favourite blogs) regularly since I came to Baroda, but then, that's what happens when :

1. You don't have a net connection at home.(Imagine the complications- first, you apply to BSNL for a landline. That comes after a period of 2-3 days(Of course, that's much better than the days when getting a phone connection after a year, was an event to celebrate), you get the landline.

It doesn't ring,of course, till you go and say the 'green waala thanks' to the lineman. After this, you can apply to them for a broadband connection, which I did two days back. Now, I have to go and meet the 'broadband waale saab' to ensure the connection comes in a day or 2. Let's hope it comes by tomorrow.
Since I usually wake up at 5 AM without an alarm except the mental alarm(To be on time for the 545 AM Pooja at EME temple), I'll surely find more time to be net-bound, once that happens.

2. There's a list of things to be done, and, something new keeps cropping up for every one activity completed. Hence, the title of this post(Jigsaws)..A visit here is just like a jigsaw puzzle- all the pieces are scattered initially, then,as time progresses, the pieces keep falling into place, as they have so far. And,touchwood, the jigsaw will be completed by the time it's time for me to return.LOL.

There's so much to tell, right from the terrorist-ically draped ladies on their two-wheelers to Crossword to landmark to Balubhai to Samrat to Alkapuri to the Kiss-Me Teacher to news headlines about IT Cos and toilet paper, local lingo to bargaining, that, right now,I'll just bid adieu till next time, which, hopefully will be from home, tomorrow or the Day After.

Cheerio! Oh,yes: a LOL joke to end:
When Charles deGaulle decided to retire from public life, the British ambassador and his wife threw a gala dinner party in his honor.
At the dinner table the Ambassador's wife was talking with Madame deGaulle.
"Your husband has been such a prominent public figure, such a presence on the French and International scene for so many years! How quiet retirement will seem in comparison. What are you most looking forward to in these retirement years Madame?"
"A p*nis," replied Madame deGaulle.
A huge hush fell over the table. Everyone heard her
answer... and no one knew what to say next.
Le Grand Charles leaned over to his wife and said, "Mon cherie, I believe ze English pronounce
zat word,... 'appiness!'"
----
And,I can't resist putting up this one:
"I hear you went fishing with your girl last week."
"Yes, that's right."
"Catch anything?"
"Don't know yet."
-----
Bye!!

Darn good.

I have changes to make to a 50 yr home, will take references from you.

What's all the local lingo? See what ten yrs in M'bai does, disorient.

I waited for a month for a BSNL connection in Bangalore and they asked me extra money for that too. Felt very bad as dad retired from that department.
