Yawning and all that jazz

Thought for the day: Old age is when you resent the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated because there are fewer articles to read. ~ George Burns

(Quip:No, I never resented the SI issues yet)

Did you feel bugged when the person listening to you suddenly yawned at you? Well, don't be..he or she might be doing just to keep his or her brain cool. It is not promoting sleep, nor is it a sign of weariness or irritation at your monologue(however boring it might be). Researchers have concludes that yawning involves opening the mouth involuntarily while taking a long, deep breath of air, and helps the brain work more effectively. Thinking back,my yawns during the day come usually when I'm in the co bus on the way back home..it's like a sudden stoppage of continuous, err, work like staring at the computer screen, which makes the brain feel overwhelmed with relaxedness.:) And,voila-there's the yawn. It's been good even to get rid of headaches, sometimes. What about you? When do you yawn?(Before anyone says' reading this boring post, let me ramble on to the next topic).

What do you do when you get bored at work? Did you try what I said sometime back??Log on to google talk with one id, go to gmail with other id. Then, from gmail's talk window, say hi to yourself on gtalk...and,discuss all the latest gossip.:)...slightly better than sending email from one id to another,na??

Another nice one is,hop over to your colleague's desk when he/she leaves for a cuppa tea/coffee/whatever,go to Word. Tools.Autocorrect. In Replace....with...replace 'Dear' with 'Yo' or 'Sweetheart', replace the colleague's name with 'Mamu', replace Sir/Madam with Fool/Idiot, just to name a few. Can't you imagine their horror when they print a letter saying' Sweetheart Fool, this refers to your loveletter reference.......and,ending with... Yours Sincerely, Mamu.
Try it and see. And,of course, let me know the results. (I can see Keshi's eyes gleaming, for one..who else- Darsh?Red?)

Wow-seems like ole times..Two letters today.
One,in Weekend,the mag of a local paper I subscribe to.Here it is.
The other one's a review of Chak De India,in the Nov 1 Filmfare.(Nee,it's not on the net yet)

Came across this newer version of Georgie Porgie pudding and pie,in an article recently. It goes:

Georgie Porgie,Pizza and coffee,
Burgers,chips and lots of toffee.
He wanted to chase girls but was overweight and lazy
So tucked into another plate of pie and gravy
His taste in all things is X-X-L
The only thing high in his life is cholesterol!
(Quite a rhyme of the times,I felt)

On to the end jokes:
Before that, did you know that the full form of pun is paronomasia? Just a bit of knowledge I came across today.. I always thought that pun is a word in itself. As they say, "A pun is its own reword."

The first few are for Shreya, who's requested, err, simpler jokes.*smile*

-He drove his expensive car into a tree and found out how the Mercedes bends.
-I couldn't quite remember how to throw a boomerang, but eventually it came back to me.
-Did you hear about the guy whose whole left side was cut off? He's all right now.
-The magician got so mad he pulled his hare out.

-When women enter middle age, it gives men a pause.
-Nylons give women a run for their money.
- One of those Middle Eastern smoking places opened down the block from here. I wanted to check it out but my wife doesn't like me hanging out with hookahs
