Headline in a local paper:

Singapore in the hunt for MICE.Just as I was wondering when that interesting country got invaded by these rat-faced rodents, I read the article further down and realized that....yes....MICE is an acronym..for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions.LOL....Now,it becomes clear. The place is being developed further, efforts to shake off it's staid image are being made in dead earnest.

The logic being, the MICE visitors usually spend two to three times more than the leisure tourists,probably coz they are there on an allowance, company expenses,etc...

Another interesting article in the same paper talks about whether James Bond 007 has lost his golden gun,err,touch. With former Bond Pierce Brosnan going on record to say that the whole idea of James Bond is 'fraudulent'(What do they say about sour grapes, which is what this is all about,I think,since Pierce gave up his mantle of JB?).Personally,I'm a Bond fan,like so many others I know. And,these are some of the few movies which are 'anytime movies'. i.e.you can see them again and again and still not feel you wasted your time.Be it Dr. No or Goldfinger or Diamonds are Forever, each of these movies has been ahead of it's time, with it's special effects usually leaving us 'shaken and stirred'.Even the movie with a different actor, George Lazenby, (On her majesty's secret service) was memorable, with Bond getting married for the first time.

The weather out here is getting somewhat better(If you can call 111 deg F better than 116 deg F)...I guess,with September round the corner,this is bound to happen.

Mice indeed...many of us back home are not that over the moon...2 MICE with 2 casinos..it's a desperate attempt by the incumbent government with MPs making millions..highest paid in the world...doing nothng..creating elitism...while the rest of us...commoners hardly could breathe with problems of job loss, escalating costs of living...they have just announced a 2% increase to the existing 5% GST...
sure those rats need more MICE...

  Hi all positive people.. a topic I often think over.. it's something which helped a lot in changing my thoughts towards the positive side (Again, learned via the Secret)... and, still does, in this always continual learning curve. Inventions and Discoveries

I'm really curious. Who invented the 'Va'. Or the 'Sha'. Or the 'Wi'. Or some such words. No, they're not some illnesses or prefixes. These are the words we invent when talking to people. I see the usage the max, specially in Baroda. Like: 1. Chai-Vaai peeni hai?(Want to have some Chai-Vaai?) 2. Naashta-Vaashta kar liya?(Did you have Naashta-Vaashta?) 3. Chutney-Vutney hai kya?( Is there any chutney-vutney?) 4. Lift-Wift nahin hai kya building mein?(Isn't there a Life-Wift in the building?) 5. Bombay-Wombay/ Dubai-Shubai kab jaa rahe ho ab?(When are you going to ....?) 6. Paise-Vaise milenge time pe ya nahin?(Will you get Paise-Vaise on time or not?) There are so many others I come across during the day, like, say speaker-veeker, phone-vone, kapde-vapde, dukaan-vukaan, that I have these rhyming words coming out of my ears, and, Arghhh!! (Disclaimer: all the briefcase pics are courtesy goo-gling) Sush ,nee, SS has tagged me(thanks for that,SS)-the (ahem) only guy picked to do the tag...curiosity @ what I carry in my briefcase,apparently.:) So,here goes...be ready to get shocked??Not really.. ---- Currently: Answer is : Nothing..:)hehe..why? Coz I don't carry a bag or a briefcase. Some months back, I decided that I was fed up of carrying...(Well,that appears below)...anything to work. Just decided' Khaali haath aaye the hum, khaali haath jaayenge' applies to my work place,too..and..the rest,as they say, is history..so while people look proud lugging their laptops,their lunches, et al everyday to work..and sweating away in this humid weather, I'm cool,calm, collected...no pressure on the arms,so to speak.
