  First Domestic Flying Experience: Today, I am somehow reminded of my first flight within India, and, then, the first flight outside India, both in the nineties.. both were memorable ones. The first flight within India was from Baroda to Mumbai for a two day training session… we(me and a colleague AJ ) were in Blue Star, and were nominated to attend a training program at the last moment.. the airline was Air Deccan, now defunct, I think, and the aircraft was the small fokker aircraft, where if you stand full height, you might bang the roof or door frame. 😊 Both of us were pretty nervous…since we had no experience of flying at all. We decided to imitate the guy sitting next to us. It started when the seatbelts were to be fastened… we couldn’t get the hang of it even after observing him and finally asked him the methodology for want of a better term and followed suit. Inventions and Discoveries

I'm really curious. Who invented the 'Va'. Or the 'Sha'. Or the 'Wi'. Or some such words. No, they're not some illnesses or prefixes. These are the words we invent when talking to people. I see the usage the max, specially in Baroda. Like: 1. Chai-Vaai peeni hai?(Want to have some Chai-Vaai?) 2. Naashta-Vaashta kar liya?(Did you have Naashta-Vaashta?) 3. Chutney-Vutney hai kya?( Is there any chutney-vutney?) 4. Lift-Wift nahin hai kya building mein?(Isn't there a Life-Wift in the building?) 5. Bombay-Wombay/ Dubai-Shubai kab jaa rahe ho ab?(When are you going to ....?) 6. Paise-Vaise milenge time pe ya nahin?(Will you get Paise-Vaise on time or not?) There are so many others I come across during the day, like, say speaker-veeker, phone-vone, kapde-vapde, dukaan-vukaan, that I have these rhyming words coming out of my ears, and, Arghhh!! Coffee,anybody?

Thought for the day:Experience is not what happens to a man;it is what he does with what happens to him...Aldous Huxley There's this extremely cozy place, Canara Coffee House, in Dandiya Bazaar, in the heart of our city. I've spoken about it earlier also. It's been around since decades, and, still continues to be popular amongst those who savour good food, albeit, at even better prices. Prices which seem to be from the eighties, sometimes. I often go to this place, whenever I venture towards the city side(Normally the traffic is too scary to venture during peak hours).  Today, I observed that they were playing FM.(Radio Mirchi..what a nice station name for playing in a restaurant, na?) I looked all around for a music system, and couldn't find it. Then, I saw this radio- a National Ekco radio- ages old, with valves and all, not our modern chip system.
